Jaxon and Lana walked down the halls of McKinley, posters in hand. Jaxon stopped, taped a poster to the wall and kept walking.

“I can’t believe we’re going through with this,” Lana said. “Us, running for Prom King and Queen? Well, you I can understand, but me?”

“Relax,” Jaxon said with a smile. “Once again, you’re short changing yourself.”

“I’m not short changing myself,” Lana said. “I know my own value. I just can’t believe I’m running for something so girly and frivolous.”

Jaxon nodded. “Fair. But we’re gonna still gonna give this campaign our all. We have four days to drum up votes, Lana. We’ve got this in the bag.”

Lana smiled as she and Jaxon continued walking down the hall.

“Oh no,” Lana said, her face turning white as she dove behind Jaxon and peeked around his arm.

“What?” Jaxon asked, looking around confused.

“That’s Cherry,” Lana said.

“Cherry?” Jaxon asked. “Who’s Cherry?”

“Hallie’s prom date last year,” Lana explained. “I was new here and I had eyes for Hallie so I stole Cherry and ditched her so I could get Hallie alone. Of course, Bella messed that up and my plan didn’t work out. I imagine Cherry must be pissed at me for ditching her.”

“Lana Addison, you dog,” Jaxon said with a smile. “I am impressed.”

“Is she gone?” Lana asked, peering around Jaxon.

“Yeah, she’s gone,” Jaxon replied.

Lana breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank God. I don’t wanna open that can of worms.”

“Speaking of cans of worms that don’t need to be opened, how is this whole thing with Ana going?”

“My mom loved her. But that’s because Ana doesn’t have a child and the two of them bonded over their love for fine Italian cuisine .”

“So I guess that the whole thing is going according to plan?”

Lana nodded. “So far. After I take Ana to prom, she’s gonna put the next step into action and soon Hallie and I will be able to be back together.”

“I can’t help but think that you and Hallie should be going to prom together,” Jaxon said.

“My mom would never let me go with her,” Lana said. “It’s not like I have much of a choice. This whole thing seems crazy but it’s the only way, Jaxon. You don’t know my mom.”

Jaxon nodded as he hung up another prom poster. “Nothing seems right anymore. You and Hallie are meant for each other. Just like Ana and Natasha are meant to be together.”

“But Natasha is so in love with Hallie, she doesn’t know that Ana exists,” Lana said.

“It doesn’t help that Hallie is using Natasha to try to make you jealous,” Jaxon said, securing the poster.

“You think she’s using Natasha?” Lana asked.

Jaxon nodded. “Being deeply and truly in love, and blessed with my natural intuition, I can spot a fake relationship a mile away. Hallie doesn’t love Natasha, that much is very obvious.”

“Poor Natasha,” Lana said. “I sort of feel responsible.”

“The whole thing’s gotten out of hand,” Jaxon said. “But that’s just my opinion.”

Evan sat alone in the Warbler common room, reading a book. He turned the page and kept reading, not looking up when Claude walked into the room.

“So I guess you’ll be going to McKinley’s prom with your boyfriend Friday night,” Claude said.

Evan looked up at Claude.

“Yeah, I guess,” Evan said. “I still haven’t gotten an invitation yet.”

“Lucas is a lucky guy,” Claude said. “He’s very lucky to have a guy like you as his boyfriend. I mean, I talk tough and all this, but deep down I’m kinda insecure. I’ve always been kind of used when it comes to boys. I’ve gotten a few thrills out of those relationships, but nothing lasting or fulfilling.”

“Didn’t you and Chuck date?”

“No,” Claude said. “I don’t think Chuck is bisexual. We just experimented, but once he started seeing Chastity, things stopped abruptly. If you kiss a guy or even sleep with him, it doesn’t mean you’re in love. Chuck’s a cute guy, but it’d never work. Besides, there’s cuter guys out there and I just happen to be crazy about one of them.”

Evan smiled. “Let me guess. I might be one of those guys.”

Claude smiled. “There’s no ‘might be’ to it, Evan. You’re beautiful, you’re smart, you’re funny, you’re sexy.”

Evan blushed. “I don’t think I’ve ever been called beautiful or sexy.”

“Then you haven’t been dating the right people,” Claude said.

Claude walked over to the stereo and fiddled with it for a second. After a moment, the music began. Claude looked at Evan as he started to sing.

“If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go,” Claude sang. “I can take you places you ain't never been before. Baby, take a chance or you’ll never ever know. I got money in my hands that I’d really like to blow. Swag, swag, swag, on you. Chillin' by the fire while we eatin’ fondue. I don't know about me but I know about you. So say hello to falsetto in three, two, swag.”

Evan smiled, blushing as he shook his head in disbelief.

“I’d like to be everything you want,” Claude sang. “Hey boy, let me talk to you. If I was your boyfriend, never let you go. Keep you on my arm boy, you’d never be alone. I can be a gentleman, anything you want. If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go, I’d never let you go.”

Claude took Evan’s hand and pulled him off the couch. Evan stood there as Claude circled him, singing.

“Tell me what you like yeah tell me what you don’t. I could be your Buzz Lightyear, fly across the globe. I don’t ever wanna fight yeah, you already know. I’mma make you shine bright like you’re laying in the snow, burr. Boyfriend, boyfriend, you could be my boyfriend. You could be my boyfriend until the w-w-world ends. Make you dance, do a spin and a twirl and voice going crazy on this hook like a whirlwind. Swaggy. I’d like to be everything you want. Hey boy, let me talk to you. If I was your boyfriend, never let you go. Keep you on my arm boy, you’d never be alone. I can be a gentleman, anything you want. If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go, I’d never let you go.”

Claude stepped behind Evan, running his hands up Evan’s arm as he leaned in and sung into his ear.

“So give me a chance, ‘cause you’re all I need, boy. Spend a week with your boy I’ll be calling you my boyfriend. If I was your man, I’d never leave you, boy. I just want to love and treat you right. If I was your boyfriend, never let you go. Keep you on my arm boy, you’d never be alone. Never be alone. I can be a gentleman, gentlemen, anything you want. If I was your boyfriend, boyfriend, I’d never let you go, never let you go.”

Evan exhaled sharply as Claude stepped away and began to dance.

“Na na na, na na na, na na na. Yeah, boy. Na na na, na na na, na na na, eh. If I was your boyfriend. Na na na, na na na, na na na, eh. Na na na, na na na, na na na, eh. If I was your boyfriend.”

Evan stood there, speechless.

Okay, I’m not gonna lie, Claude is a major fox. I mean, he’s got these chiseled good looks, his abs are to die for, and I can’t resist the urge to run my hands through his flawless hair. But, I’m dating Lucas. Of course, that relationship is so hard. I can’t even touch my boyfriend and he’s hung up on this whole gay bashing issue. I’ve tried so hard to be understanding but it’s been a whole year.

“Just think about it,” Claude said with a wink as he walked out of the common room.

New Directions, Declan, Evan, and Dillon walked together into the prom shop, splitting into their respective groups. Lana joined the boys as they went to look at tuxedos.

“Sorry but I’m going tux,” Lana said. “Could you imagine if I were to win Prom Queen? A Prom Queen in a tuxedo?”

Jaxon smiled. “Nice, Lana.”

“Got to keep it classy,” Lana said. “Besides, could you imagine me in a dress?”

“No, I couldn’t,” Miles said. “Talk about unnatural.”

Declan stepped forward, taking a long look around the shop.

“Guess now it's official,” Declan sang.

“Can't back out, can't back out,” Dillon sang.

“No!” Declan sang.

“Gettin ready,” Nicole and Honey sang as they grabbed Declan and Dillon and led them away. “For the night of nights, the night of nights, all right.”

“Don't panic,” Declan sang.

“Panic!” Dillon sang.

“Now do we have to dress up for the Prom?” Adam sang.

“Dude, I don't think we have a choice,” Natasha sang.

“Yeah it's the night of all nights,” Nicole sang. “Got to look just right.”

“Dressing to impress the boys,” Honey sang.

“Do I want classic or vintage or plaid?” Dillon sang, stepping out of the dressing room.

“Where's the mirror?” Natasha sang.

“I think this tux is too baggy,” Adam sang, looking at himself in the mirror.

“Too tight, it makes me look weird,” Declan sang.

“Should I go movie star, glamorous?” Nicole sang, holding up a dress.

“Sassy or sweet?” Honey sang.

“Don't know, but no one better wear the same dress as me!” Ana chimed in.

It's the night of our nightmares,” Declan, Adam, Natasha, and Dillon sang.

“It's the night of our dreams,” Nicole, Honey, and Ana sang.

“It's too late to back out of this.”

“Hey! Makeovers, massages.”

“Don't know what a corsage is.”

“Been waiting all our lives for this.”

“It's gonna be a night to remember,” they all sang. “Come on now! Big fun. It's gonna be the night to last forever. We'll never ever, ever forget!”

“Getting ready,” Ana sang. “Getting, getting ready, ready. Getting ready, getting, getting ready, oh!”

“Hey you’ve been in there an hour!” Adam sang, knocking on the dressing room door.

“So what should I do with my hair?” Ana sang.

“Where's my shaver?” Adam sang.

“I look like a waiter!” Dillon sang.

“It's getting later already should be there,” Nicole sang.

“Her mother opens the door,” Dillon sang. “I'm shaking inside.”

“He's here! It's time! The hour's arrived!” Honey sang.

“Don't know why her father's staring me down,” Declan sang.

“Where's my purse? Lip gloss? Now I'm really freaking out!” Ana sang.

“Then something changes my world,” Adam sang. “The most beautiful girl right in front of my eyes.”

“It's gonna be a night to remember,” they all sang. “Come on now! Big fun. It's gonna be the night to last forever. We'll never ever, ever forget!”

“Who's that girl?” Declan, Dillon, Natasha, and Adam sang. “She's so fine.”

“Who's that guy?” Honey, Nicole, and Ana sang. “I don't recognize, no.”

“Who's that girl? She looks so good, yeah.”

“Guess you never really noticed but you probably should!” They all sang. “Big fun! On the night of nights, all right. The night of nights, tonight. Let's dance! On the night of nights, you know we're gonna do it right. It's gonna be a night to remember. It's gonna be the night to last forever. It's gonna be our night to remember. It's gonna be the night to last forever. It's gonna be our night to remember. Come on now, big fun! It's gonna be the night to last forever. We'll never ever, ever forget! It's gonna be our night. All together say it loud! Come on now, everyone. It's gonna be a night to remember.”

“Nicole? Nicole!” Breezy said, nudging Nicole with her elbow.

Nicole snapped back to reality, her day dream ending.

“What do you think of this dress?” Breezy asked, holding up a sky blue floor length dress.

Nicole smiled. “I think that looks beautiful.”

Breezy smiled. “Come on, I’ll help you pick something out.”

The music was blaring inside the gymnasium as people piled endlessly inside. New Directions stood onstage as the crowd started to gather around them.

“We’d like to bring up a very special guest for this next song,” Bella said into her microphone.

“Our very close friend, Evan Marx!” Jaxon announced.

The crowd applauded as Evan sheepishly walked up onto the stage.

“You guys wanna hear some Nicki Minaj?” Evan asked, taking hold of the spare microphone Miles shoved toward him.

The crowd erupted with cheers as Evan looked back at New Directions and smiled.

“South Africa is where I come from,” Evan rapped. “Get me my banjo, get me my drum. Kidnap career and don't take ransom. Don't let me come out of my dungeon. You want me to leave then take it down. You see me come out of England at dawn. You say the pattern come from Kingston. Trinidad, Trinidad, my island.”

Evan’s attention was drawn to the door as Claude and some girl strolled into the gym. Helooked quite dapper in his crushed velvet indigo suit.

“I see you in here dancing,” Evan sang, watching Claude as he walked toward the stage, their eyes locked together. “Your preview is quite romantic. I envy your perfect kind of life. Who knew you'd be so sexy? I think you're quite fantastic. Screw your flaws, you're prefect in my eyes.”

“And maybe I'm naive for loving you,” Evan and New Directions sang.

“You're a cheat and a liar, but tonight you're everything I desire,” Evan sang.

“You beautiful sinner,” Evan and New Directions sang, “I love your wicked heart. Beautiful sinner, it's such a work of art. I didn't know that bad could love so good. You are the type of bad that feels so good. Beautiful sinner.”

“I bet you’re heart of stone, living in your world alone,” Evan sang. “I hope you let me in tonight. They want me to beware. Dangerous, I don't care. I can't wait to have you in my arms.”

“And maybe I'm naive for loving you,” Evan and New Directions sang.

“You're a cheat and a liar, but tonight you're everything I desire,” Evan sang.

“You beautiful sinner,” Evan and New Directions sang. “I love your wicked heart. Beautiful sinner, it's such a work of art. I didn't know that bad could love so good. You are the type of bad that feels so good. Beautiful sinner.”

“Maybe you're the master of disguise and you are putting on and you're really the saint, the good one,” Evan sang. “Are you here to save me from the crowd? If you are, then baby take me now.”

“Beautiful sinner,” Evan and New Directions sang. “I love your wicked heart. Beautiful sinner, it's such a work of art. I didn't know that bad could love so good. You are the type of bad that feels so good. Beautiful sinner.”

As the song ended, Claude motioned to Evan to follow him. Evan looked back at Lucas, then at Claude, trying to figure out what to do.

Hallie stood by the punch bowl, waiting for Natasha to return. Bella worked her way over to her, leaving Reece somewhere in the crowd.

“I think that what you’re doing is wrong,” Bella said.

“I don’t think I asked your opinion,” Hallie said.

“We’re best friends, Hallie. You get my opinion whether you ask for it or not,” Bella replied. “You love Lana, okay? And while our whole break up hurt like hell, I knew it was best. We shouldn’t jeopardize what we have as friends and you should be with Lana, hand down.”

“I do love Lana and being with Natasha isn’t gonna change that,” Hallie said.

“Then maybe instead of using Natasha to make Lana jealous, you should be fighting for her.”

“What makes you think I’m using Natasha?” Hallie asked.

“Because I know you well enough to know that you don’t love her in the least.”

“Lana’s moved on, Bella. She’s with Ana, now.”

“Then maybe you need to talk to Lana. But you shouldn’t be using Natasha like that, okay? I was used and it hurts. Natasha doesn’t deserve that and you’re not the type of person to hurt someone like that.”

Hallie nodded. “I know. But I just want Lana to hurt as much as I hurt.”

“I do hurt,” Lana said, joining them. “You think that I dumped you because I wanted to? It killed me, Hallie.”

“Then why did you?” Hallie asked.

“Because my evil mother forbid me to see you, Hallie. I had to break up with you. Me and Ana, that isn’t real. It was part of a plan to get my mom to let me see you again. Everything I did, I did for you.”

“You could have told me,” Hallie said.

“I didn’t wanna make you have to lie to my mom,” Lana said. “And if my mom found out what was going on and she knew you were in on it, she wouldn’t even let us still be friends.”

“Okay,” Hallie said. “I understand. It doesn’t mean it still doesn’t hurt.”

“So please just let me and Ana go along with this charade a little bit longer until it convinces my mom to let us be together again. If I never get to be with you again, it will kill me.”

Hallie smiled. “I will, okay? I will do anything to be with you again.”

Natasha returned, smiling.

“Hey Lana and Bella,” Natasha said. “Great to see you. You both look great. Very stylish, tux, Lana. Hallie, can I have this dance?”

Hallie looked at Lana and Bella, then back at Natasha.

“Of course,” Hallie said.

“Okay, Lana,” Jaxon said, walking over. “It’s time for us to take the stage. It’s our last chance at those ever important last minute votes.”

Lana nodded. “Okay. Let’s do it.”

The lights were down low and tiny balls of light reflected into the crowd off the disco ball hanging high above the stage. Lana and Jaxon stood at the very front of the stage, leaning into the microphone stands as the band played behind them.

“I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'll never let you go,” Jaxon sung. “When all those shadows almost killed your light, I remember you said don't leave me here alone. But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight.”

“Just close your eyes,” Jaxon and Lana sang. “The sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound.”

“Don't you dare look out your window darling,” Lana sang. “Everything's on fire, the war outside our door keeps raging on. Hold on to this lullaby even when the music's gone, gone.”

“Just close your eyes,” Jaxon and Lana sang. “The sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. La la, la la, la la, la la, O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. La la, la la. Just close your eyes. You'll be alright. Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh. O-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh, o-ooh.”

Evan followed Claude into the hallway. Claude stopped and turned to face Evan.

“What are you doing here?’ Evan asked.

“I crashed because I wanted to be here with you,” Claude said. “I got some girl from McKinley to ask me to be her date.”

“Are you crazy?” Evan asked. “My boyfriend is here!”

“Yes, I am crazy,” Claude replied. “I’m crazy for you.”

“Do you know how much trouble you’re gonna cause?”

Claude stepped forward and grabbed Evan, cupping his cheek.

“Kiss me,” Claude said. “Kiss me and tell me you don’t feel the mutual attraction between us. Kiss me and deny to my face that you feel anything.”

“I don’t,” Evan said.

“There is undeniable chemistry between us, Evan. You know it. Kiss me and tell me otherwise.”

Evan shook his head. “I can’t do that to Lucas.”

Claude let go of Evan. “Fine. Go to your boyfriend, okay? Just break my heart like every other boy. Just like Chuck and your best friend, Jaxon. Break my heart and forget I even exists.”

Evan looked down at the floor. “Just a kiss? That’s all it takes?”

“Just a kiss is all I ask for,” Claude said.

Evan stepped forward and pressed his lips to Claude’s. In Evan’s mind, all sorts of thoughts raced through his head. When Claude pulled his lips away, Evan found himself wanting to move in for a second kiss.

“Evan?” Lucas asked from behind Evan.

Evan swallowed the lump in his throat as the turned to face Lucas.

“Lucas, you don’t understand. I was just proving that I didn’t feel for him like I do for you.”

Lucas was silent as he stepped forward. He reared his hand back and slapped Evan with a resounding smack. He turned around, not saying a word as he stormed back into the gymnasium.

“I’m sorry,” Claude said. “But it’s for the best, Evan. I guess I’m a home-wrecker, but you deserve so much better and I really do care about you. Ever since you came to Dalton, I’ve fallen head over heels for you. Lucas is a great guy, but he’s too damaged and you need someone to devote all of himself to you. Someone who is gonna tell you how wonderful you are every single day. Evan, you aren’t as happy as you say you are. That smile on your face hides so much pain and frustration. It’s clear as day. When you speak of Lucas, it’s with burden in your voice. It was dragging you down and while you try to lie and say you left McKinley because they didn’t appreciate you, you know that’s not exactly why you left. You left to get space from Lucas because his issues were smothering you.”

“How could you know that?” Evan asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Because I just do,” Claude said.

“Still,” Evan said. “I didn’t have to hurt him like that.”

“You didn’t have it in you to hurt him at all, Evan. You would have never broke up with him and you would have stayed miserable. I know Lucas has a lot going on, but he needs to get psychiatric help. You have to, at some point in time, stop sacrificing yourself to make others happy. Sometimes, you just have to take care of number one.”

Evan nodded. “I think I should go apologize to Lucas and make this break-up official. He deserves that closure. And you’re right. I was scared that I couldn’t help Lucas like he needed and that I’d go under trying to fix him. So, I ran away and I placed the blame on something else. I’m a coward.”

Claude shook his head. “You’re not a coward. It takes a lot of courage to go do what you’re about to do.”

Ana joined Lana as Miles took the stage to perform. Ana smiled playfully.

“So,” Ana said. “Can I have this dance?”

Lana took Ana’s hand and smiled. “Let’s dance.”

“The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful stop me and steal my breath,” Miles sang. “And emeralds from mountains thrust towards the sky, never revealing their depth. Tell me that we belong together, dress it up with the trappings of love. I'll be captivated, I'll hang from your lips instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above.”

Ana smiled as she and Lana danced together. Lana looked over and saw Hallie, dancing with Natasha. Lana smiled at Hallie, who returned the smile.

“I'll be your crying shoulder. I'll be love's suicide. I'll be better when I'm older. I'll be the greatest fan of your life. And rain falls angry on the tin roof as we lie awake in my bed. You're my survival, you're my living proof. My love is alive and not dead. Tell me that we belong together. Dress it up with the trappings of love. I'll be captivated, I'll hang from your lips. Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above. I'll be your crying shoulder. I'll be love's suicide. I'll be better when I'm older. I'll be the greatest fan of your life.”

Lana was taken by surprise as Ana pressed her lips to hers. Lana pulled away, shocked.

“Hallie knows the deal, we don’t have to try so hard to make this look real,” Lana said.

“I don’t know what to say,” Ana said. “I couldn’t help myself. It felt right.”

“And I've dropped out, I've burned up, I've fought my way back from the dead. I've tuned in, turned on, remembered the things that you said. I'll be your crying shoulder. I'll be love's suicide. I'll be better when I'm older. I'll be the greatest fan of your life. The greatest fan of your life.”

Natasha, taking cue from Ana, leaned in and kissed Hallie. Hallie pushed her away.

“Whoa,” Hallie said. “Let’s not go there just yet, okay?”

“I thought you were feeling the song,” Natasha said.

“Natasha, you’re a great girl,” Hallie said. “But I wasn’t fully honest with you. When I asked you out and to prom, I was kinda just missing Lana. I didn’t mean for things to get so serious and certainly so quick.”

“Oh,” Natasha said. “I’m sorry I kissed you. Excuse me.”

Natasha pulled away from Hallie and ran out the door into the hallway.

“Here’s your chance to go get your girl,” Lana said to Ana. “Tell her how you feel.”

“Thanks,” Ana said as she hugged Lana. “I’ll go tell her exactly how I feel. Maybe it will soften the blow that she just got.”

Hallie turned toward the door and started to walk toward it.

“Where are you going?” Lana asked.

“You kissed Ana and also, I think I should go talk to Natasha,” Hallie replied.

“Ana kissed me, Hallie. It was just like the surprise smooch you just got. It meant nothing to me and I love you, you know that.”

“I still feel bad for what I did. I’m going to go talk to her.”

“I think Ana’s got it handled,” Lana replied. “Please, stay.”

Hallie thought for a second. As she hesitated, Lana walked up on stage and whispered something to the band. She grabbed the microphone looked out at Hallie.

“Well it's good to hear your voice,” Lana sang.

Hallie stopped and turned to face Lana.

“I hope you’re doing fine and if you ever wonder, I'm lonely here tonight,” Lana continued. “Lost here in this moment and time keeps slipping by. And if I could have just one wish, I'd have you by my side. Ooh, oh I miss you. Ooh, oh I need you. And I love you more than I did before. And if today I don't see your face, nothing's changed, no one can take your place. It gets harder every day.”

Hallie stepped toward the stage.

“Say you love me more than you did before and I'm sorry it's this way but I'm coming home. I'll be coming home and if you ask me I will stay, I will stay. Well I try to live without you. The tears fall from my eyes. I'm alone and I feel empty. God I'm torn apart inside. I look up at the stars, hoping you’re doing the same. Somehow I feel closer and I can hear you say. Ooh, oh I miss you. Ooh, oh I need you.”

Hallie smiled as she and Lana locked eyes.

“And I love you more than I did before. And if today I don't see your face, nothing's changed, no one can take your place. It gets harder every day. Say you love me more than you did before And I'm sorry that it's this way But I'm coming home. I'll be coming home And if you ask me I will stay, I will stay, always stay. I never wanna lose you and if I had to I would choose you. So stay, please always stay. You're the one that I hold onto ‘cause my heart would stop without you.”

Hallie walked up onto the stage and Lana reached toward her, taking her hand.

“And I love you more than I did before,” Lana sang to Hallie. “And if today I don't see your face, nothing's changed, no one can take your place. It gets harder every day. Say you love me more than you did before And I'm sorry that it's this way But I'm coming home. I'll be coming home And if you ask me I will stay, I will stay, I’ll always stay. And I love you more than I did before and I'm sorry that it's this way but I'm coming home. I'll be coming home and if you ask I will stay, I will stay, I will stay.”

Lana and Hallie kissed as the crowd erupted with cheers. Jaxon looked next to him at James and they shared a smile.

Breezy exhaled as she and Miles joined Nicole, Dillon, Rose, Kevin, Honey, and Declan. She brought her punch cup to her lips and took a sip.

“I don’t stand a chance at Prom Queen after that,” Breezy said.

“Don’t feel bad,” Honey said. “Neither do I. But win or lose, we’re in this together.”

“I refuse to reveal I voted for,” Nicole said. “I was forced to choose from two of my best friends and I refuse to let it harm a friendship.”

“You should have run,” Dillon said. “You would have looked beautiful up there.”

“Me as a Prom Queen?” Nicole said with a laugh. “My past brush with popularity was more than enough for me.”

“You’d be an amazing Prom Queen,” Rose said.

“Does she get a throne?” Kevin asked.

Miles hit Kevin in the back of the head. “Of course not.”

“Come on,” Jaxon said, walking over to join them. “We’re due on the stage to do our last group number.”

The crowd was jumping and moving to the beat as the music began. James stepped forward, microphone in hand.

“Ooh. Yea yeah, yea,” James sang. “This is more than a typical kinda thing. Felt the joints in my bones when you were touching me, oh oh.”

“Didn't want to take it slow,” James and Jaxon sang.

“In a daze, going crazed, I can barely think,” Jaxon sang. “You're replaying in my brain, find it hard to sleep, oh oh.”

“Waiting for my phone to blow,” Bella and Rose sang.

“Now I'm here in a sticky situation,” Rose rapped. “Got a little trouble, yep and now I'm pacing. Five minutes, ten minutes, now it's been an hour. Don't wanna think too hard, but I'm sour.”

“Oh oh, I can't seem to let you go,” Rose and Kevin sang.

Out in the crowd, Evan and Claude danced together, huge smiles on their face. Lucas faked a smile, knowing at least Evan was happy, but it still hurt.

“See I've been waiting all day for you to call me baby,” New Directions sang. “So let's get up, let's get on it. Don't you leave me broken hearted tonight.”

“Come on, that's right,” Rose rapped.

“Honest baby, I'll do anything you want to,” New Directions sang. “So can we finish what we started? Don't you leave me broken hearted tonight.”

“Come on, that's right, cheerio,” Rose rapped.

“What's the time, such a crime,” Bella sang. “Not a single word, sipping on that Patron just to calm my nerves, oh oh.”

“Poppin' bottles by the phone,” Bella and Miles sang.

“Oh yeah, had me up, had me down, turn me inside out,” Miles sang. “That's enough, hold me up. Maybe I'm in doubt, oh oh.”

“Now don't even think you know, no no,” Miles and Rose sang.

“Anything you wanna do, I'll be on it too,” Rose rapped. “Everything you say, it's like a gold with a view. Business on the front, party in the back. Maybe I was wrong, was the outfit really wack. This kinda thing doesn't happen usually. I'm on the opposite side of it, truthfully. I know you want it so come and get it, cheerio.”

“Come on, that's right, ch-ch-cheerio,” Rose rapped.

“When you gonna call?” Breezy sang. “Don't leave me broken hearted. I've been waiting up. Let's finish what we started, oh oh. I can't seem to let you go.”

“Come on, that's right, cheerio, uh!” Rose rapped.

Everyone stood near the stage, eagerly awaiting Coach Roz to announce the Prom King and Queen.

“Let me know how you convinced me to do this,” Lana said.

“Well,” Jaxon said. “It was about a month ago and I said that I needed someone to run with me for Prom King and Queen and then somehow I convinced you that you would be a great choice as the ‘unconventional’ candidate. Then after I literally got down on my hands and knees, begging and pleading, you said yes.”

“I couldn’t stand the thought of you crying anymore,” Lana said.

“Yeah, sure,” Jaxon said. “That’s why you spent all that time making campaign posters.”

“I can’t do this,” Lana said. “I’ll be the only candidate up there not in a prom dress.”

“Relax,” Jaxon said. “You look beautiful.”

“You think I look beautiful?” Lana asked.

“In a ‘I’m not straight way,’ you know,” Jaxon said.

Lana smiled. “Jaxon Pierce, I love you. In a ‘I’m not straight way,’ you know.”

“Ladies and gentleman,” Coach Roz said, adjusting the microphone stand. “It’s time to announce your Prom King and Prom Queen. First, will the candidates for Prom Queen join me on stage right?”

Lana smiled at Jaxon as she joined Ana, Breezy, Honey, and another girl she barely recognized.

“Ladies and gentleman, your Prom Queen candidates!” Coach Roz said. “Lana Addison, Anastasia Watson, Breeziline Hollister, Zoey Berry, and Kimberly Morris! Give them a hand!”

Jaxon lead the applause as she smiled at Lana, who still seemed a little bit nervous.

“And now, will the candidates for Prom King join me on stage left?” Coach Roz asked.

Jaxon, Miles, Adam, Declan, and Louis all walked to the stage and took their places.

Coach Roz smiled as she took the envelope from Principal Figgins. She opened it slowly as she looked out into the crowd.

“Your Prom King is Jaxon Pierce!”

Jaxon smiled as the gym erupted in applause. He stepped forward, accepting his crown, sash, and scepter from Coach Roz.

“And now, the very anticipated announcement you’re all waiting for,” Coach Roz said, opening another envelope. “Your Prom Queen is Lana Addison!”

Lana looked dumbfounded as every began to clap for her. Ana gave her a playful shove forward.

“Go get your crown, girl!” Ana said.

Lana joined Jaxon onstage as the crowd kept clapping. Coach Roz crowned her and handed Lana her sash and crown. Jaxon looked at her and smiled as she and Jaxon stood arm-in-arm.

“Alright, time for that all important dance between the Prom King and Prom Queen,” Coach Roz said.

Jaxon took Lana’s hand and led her down the steps to the dance floor as Rose and James took the stage. Lana smiled.

“All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor,” Rose and James sang. “Get lost in the night and dance like there's no tomorrow. Don't care about the sunrise, somebody please just hit the lights. All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow.”

“This kind of reminds me of seventh grade,” Lana said as they began to dance together.

“What do you mean?” Jaxon asked.

“Today just wasn't my day,” Rose sang. “Everyone's getting me so fed up. I gotta find a way. I know what can make me feel better. Stepping out in my best, looking hotter than ever. Wherever the party is, that's where I'll be in a second.”

“Don’t you remember? We dated for like a couple weeks and we went to that Sadie Hawkin’s dance together.”

Jaxon smiled. "Now I do. We went to the same junior high. That was forever ago. Before I admitted I was gay.”

“And before I found out I was a lesbian.”

“I'm ready to move my body,” James sang. “Forget about all my problems. When I hear my song, I'mm a lose control. He-here I go.”

“All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor,” Rose and James sang. “Get lost in the night and dance like there's no tomorrow. Don't care about the sunrise, somebody please just hit the lights. All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow.”

“Oh, look,” Lana said, pointing off to the side. “It’s Cherry. Hi, Cherry!”

Lana waved toward a dark corner, where all Jaxon could see was a hand waving back.

“I'm loving the atmosphere,” James sang. “Feels like I'm floating in heaven. The music's all in my ear, taking over me, my hearts racing. Feeling so Hollywood. How I got everybody staring. Their eyes on the cameras and I'm loving all the attention.”

“Get up to move my body,” Rose sang. “Forget about all my problems. When I hear my song, I'mma lose control. He-here I go.”

“All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor,” Rose and James sang. “Get lost in the night and dance like there's no tomorrow. Don't care about the sunrise, somebody please just hit the lights. All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow.”

“Please DJ don't say it's the last call,” Rose sang. “’Cause I know what it means and I don't want you to play no slow song.”

“I'm still building it up to talk to that guy,” James sang. “Just give me another song and make it right.”

From the ceiling, the netting opened and hundreds of multicolored balloons and confetti rained down on the dancing crowd.

“I just wanna stay right here on the floor,” Rose and James sang. “Get lost in the night and dance like there's no tomorrow. Don't care about the sunrise, somebody please just hit the lights. All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow. All I wanna do is stay right here on the floor. Get lost in the night and dance like there's no tomorrow. Don't care about the sunrise, somebody please just hit the lights. All I wanna do is dance like there's no tomorrow.”

Lana hugged Jaxon as the music ended.

“Thanks for the dance,” Jaxon said. “Tonight was really a night to remember.”

“Just like the banner says,” Lana joked.

“So, it looks like Evan and Lucas broke up,” Jaxon said, looking at Evan and Claude.

“Yeah,” Lana said. I hope Lucas takes it well.”

Jaxon and Hallie looked around at all the couples who seemed happy and kissing. As they watched Bella and Reece share a kiss, Hallie approached Lana.

“There’s one thing that would make tonight nearly perfect,” Hallie said.

“What’s that?” Lana asked.

Hallie pulled Lana in and kissed her. Lana’s eyes went wide as she gave in to the kiss. Jaxon smiled from ear to ear.

“Tonight is perfect after all,” Jaxon said.
