Glee: The Next Generation Season 2, Episode 6: "Mash It Up!"Edit

So here’s what you missed on Glee: The Next Generation:

Hallie is still torn between Bella and Lana, but even Bella feels she’s been a bad girlfriend and Hallie should choose Lana. But Bella isn’t gonna go down without a fight and she’s not telling Hallie either. Evan finally came out to his parents and they were completely supportive. India’s been trying to get her popularity back by any means necessary. This time the plot involved Nicole and it ended up causing Dillon to dump Nicole. India’s also joined the Femme Fatales to try to ruin Lana’s plans to get to Hallie. India has plans of her own: ruin the Femme Fatales at Sectionals. Looks like the drama is in full effect!

And that’s what you missed on Glee!

Lana sighed as she sat at the lunchroom table with Jaxon, Natasha, Adam, and James. After she poked her salad with her fork, she yawned as she sat it aside.

“Lana Addison,” India said, walking briskly over to the table. “Mind if I join you guys?”

Lana rolled her eyes. “Are your seating choices that limited today?”

India stepped forward and dumped her tray into Lana’s lap. India quickly feigned surprise as she grabbed a couple of napkins and blotted Lana’s lap.

“I’m so sorry,” India said. “I am such a klutz.”

“Save it,” Lana said, pushing India’s hands away. “I know you did that on purpose. I’m not stupid. You seem to have the monopoly on that.”

India smiled wickedly to herself as Lana jumped up and bolted out the lunchroom door. India quickly took off after her.

“Oh come on, Lana,” India said. “Get over it.”

Lana pushed the front door opened and rushed outside, ignoring India. India kept following.

“You have to talk to me sometime,” India said.

Lana sighed out loud as she turned to face India. “Read my lips: drop dead.”

India started toward Lana, oblivious to the speeding bus coming her way. No sooner than she stepped into the street, a school bus hit her. Lana jumped back and gasped in shock.

“Oh my god!” Lana exclaimed, covering her mouth

Lana looked down at her lap, snapping back to reality. She looked up at India, who began to laugh.

“Food for thought,” India quipped as she turned around and walked out the door.

Lana started to get up, but Jaxon stopped her.

“She’s not worth it, Lana,” Jaxon said. “India’s just a bitch, no matter how you slice it.”

“I’m so sick of how she treats everybody,” Adam said. “Yesterday, she threw spit-wads at me.”

“I’m going to get her,” Lana said. “She won’t see it coming, but I am definitely gonna get her back.”

The Femme Fatales sat with their arms crossed on the left side of the choir room with New Directions on the right. Will and Sue stood in front of the dry erase board. Sue surveyed the room as Will prepared himself.

“Femme Fatales ladies and gentlemen,” Will added as he looked at Adam. “You may be wondering why you are here today. Sectionals is in two weeks and it’s time to buckle down. Coach Sue and thought we should have a serious face-off between the Femme Fatales and New Directions to give ourselves a taste of what to expect at Sectionals. We got our letters today and for the first time ever, New Directions is competing against four show choirs at Sectionals. This is very serious now.”

“What four show choirs?” Bella asked.

“The Femme Fatales of course,” Will said. “The Warblers, and The Holy Rollers.”

“Ugh,” Hallie said. “Chastity Vega.”

“Who’s Chastity Vega?” Lana asked.

“If the devil was a teenage girl,” Hallie said.

“I thought that was the Exorcist,” Kevin replied.

Will rolled his eyes. “Anyway, we decided that we’re gonna have a mash-up competition. You all will work amongst yourselves and create mash-ups, then you’ll perform them.”

“What does the winner get?” Miles asked.

“Eternal glory,” Will replied.

“Sweet,” Lana said.

“I think Bella and Lana should do a mash-off,” Miles said. “Could you imagine that? The war being waged in musical form?”

“Actually,” Lana said. “I don’t think--”

“That would be a great idea,” Will said.

“I can’t wait,” Evan said. “I really think it would be fun to watch them tear each other musically to shreds.”

Lana rolled her eyes as the bell sounded. Everyone else piled out of the choir room, except Bella, who stayed behind.

“So, by taking that slushie you pretty much called a truce,” Bella said. “But everyone wants to see us get volatile with our mash-up.”

“And what does a good performer do?” Lana asked. “We give them what they want.”

“Hell,” Bella said. “If we’re gonna fake it, might as well make it good.”

“What do you have in mind?” Lana asked, raising her eyebrow.

Jaxon held James’ hand as they exited the choir room and walked down the hall. Aldy spotted James and beckoned to him. James turned toward Jaxon.

“I should get going. I have plans with Aldy and some other friends,” James said.

“Why are you even hanging with Aldy?” Jaxon asked.

“Jealous?” James asked, raising his eyebrows.

Jaxon shook his head. “No. It’s just while a part of me is happy for your newfound friends, the part of me that irrevocably loves you can’t help but worry about you.”

“You don’t have to worry about me,” James said.

“Yes, I do,” Jaxon stressed. “Don’t you remember how I spent a whole year trying to protect you? At first, from Archie and then from your parents? James, the nurturer in me is attracted to all your wounded baby bird qualities, but I can only do so much if you’re choosing to put yourself into those situations.”

“Jaxon, really, I can take care of myself.”

“Is that so?” Jaxon asked.

“Yeah, it is,” James said.

“And what do Mr. and Mr. Berry think about it?”

“Who cares?” James asked. “They’re not my parents.”

“No,” Jaxon said. “Your parents are two jerks who disowned you and beat you up and threw you out on the street. Mr. and Mr. Berry care about you. They took you in out of the kindness of their hearts.”

“I’m not a child,” James said. “And I don’t need you telling me what to do.”

James turned around and walked off to join Aldy, leaving Jaxon standing there, stunned.

Evan and Honey stood onstage, their backs to the others. Honey was dressed in a replica of Fergie’s red polka dot dress from the “Fergalicious” video. Evan wore a replica of Will.I.Am’s suit from the “Check It Out” video.

The music began and Honey turned toward the audience.

“Oh wa-oh,” Honey sang. “Oh wa-oh, oh wa-oh, oh wa-oh.”

“Four, tres, two, uno,” Evan sang. “Listen up y'all ‘cause this is it. The beat that I'm bangin' is delicious.”

“Fergalicious definition,” Honey sang. “Make them boys go loco. They want my treasure so they get their pleasures from my photo. You can see me, you can't squeeze me. I ain't easy, I ain't sleazy. I got reasons why I tease 'em. Boys just come and go like seasons.

“I can’t believe it,”Evan sang,

“So delicious,” Honey sang.

“It’s so amazing,”

“So delicious.”

“This club is heating.”

“So delicious.”

“This party’s blazing.”

“I’m Fergalicious.”

“I can’t believe it, this beat it bangin,” Evan sang. “I can’t believe it.”

“I can’t believe it, hey,”Honey sang. “T-t-tasty, t-t-tasty.”

“Hey check it out,” Evan sang. “Check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out, check it out. Yeah, yeah, I’m feeling it now.”

“Check it out,”Evan and Honey sang. “Check it out, check it out.”

“Step up in the party like my name was Mr. T,”Evan rapped. “All these hating maggots ain't got nothing on me. Honestly I gotta stay as fly as I can be. If you witty Will I you get super OG. Honey’s always rest me cause I’m fly, fly, fly. Dummies they can’t touch me cause I’m floating sky high. I stay tiggerific you don’t need to ask why. You just got to see with your eyes.”

“Fergalicious definition,”Honey sang. “Make them boys go crazy. They always claim they know me, comin' to me call me Zoey. I'm the F to the E, R, G, the I, the E and can't no other lady put it down like me. I'm Fergalicious.”

“Check it out,”Evan sang.

“My body stay vicious,”Honey sang. “I be up in the gym just workin’ on my fitness. He's my witness. I put yo' boy on rock, rock and he be linin’ down the block just to watch what I got. So delicious, it's hot, hot. So delicious, I put them boys on rock, rock. So delicious, they want a taste of what I got. I’m Fergalicious. Hold, hold, hold, hold, hold up, check it out.”

“Oh, we just had to kill it,” Evan rapped. “We on the radio hotter than a skillet. We in the club making party people holla. Money in the bank means we getting top dollar. I’m a big baller, you a little smaller. Step up to my level you need to grow a little taller. I’mma shot caller, get up off my collar. You are Chihuahua, I’mma Rottweiler.”

“Alright, great mash-up, guys,” Will said. “Those songs work surprisingly well together. Up next is our mash-off, Lana and Bella.”

Lana winked at Bella as they walked up onto the stage. Bella walked forward and grabbed the microphone.

“Love, love, love, love, love, love,” she and Lana sang.

“She was everything I wanted,” Bella sang. “She was everything a girl could be.”

“Every feeling that I get,” Bella sang. “But I haven't missed you yet.”

Lana glared at Bella as she sang the last line.

“All I wanted was her love, love, love, love, love, love,” Bella and Lana sang.

“I hate everything about you,” Lana sang.

“Hate is a strong word but I really don’t like you,” Bella sang.

“Now that it’s over, I don’t even know what I liked about you,”they both sang.

“I hate every everything about you,” Lana sang.

“Hate is a strong word but I really, really, really don’t like you ,” Bella sang.

“I really don’t like you,” they both sang.

“Thought that everything was perfect,”Bella sang. “Isn’t that how it’s supposed to be?”

“Thought you thought I was worth it,”Lana sang. “Now I think a little differently.”

“Only when I stop to think about it,”the both sang.

“Now that it’s over, you can’t hurt me,” Bella sang.

“Now that it’s over, you can’t bring me down,” Lana sang.

“Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh oh,” they both sang. “All I wanted was her love, love, love, love, love. Hate!”

“I hate,” Lana sang. “You hate, I hate. You love me.”

Lana walked around Bella, sizing her up as the music faded to an end. Bella looked at Lana, a look of disdain on her face.

“Wow,” Will said, applauding. “That was fierce. Had no idea you girls could bring the rock like that.”

“May I just say, that was epic,” Kevin said.

Lana smiled. “Why thank you, guys.”

“You totally musically kicked her butt,” Scarlet added.

Lucas finished gathering his books and shut his locker. Evan walked up to him and leaned backward onto the locker beside him.

“Hello, beautiful,” Evan said.

Lucas blushed. “Hey, baby.”

“I was wondering if maybe you’d like to come over to my house for supper tonight and meet my parents?” Evan asked, smiling hopefully.

Lucas thought for a second. “I love you, Evan, but I don’t know. This world isn’t exactly understanding. I have a formerly cracked jaw, bruised kidneys and spleen, and a two broken ribs to remind me of that.”

“My parents are really cool,” Evan said. “I’d never ask you to do anything that I felt might hurt you.”

Lucas nodded. “I know that, but after what I went through, this is kind of a still a little rough for me. Can I have a few days to maybe think about it?”

Evan nodded, feeling a little sad. “Yeah, sure. I completely understand. Take all the time you need.”

Lucas smiled as he wrapped his arms around Evan. “I love you.”

“I love you too, Evan said.

Hallie stood alone in the choir room as Lana and Bella walked in. Hallie smiled warmly.

“Sit down, please,” Hallie said. “I guess you’re wondering why I asked you here.”

“The thought crossed my mind,” Lana said, taking a seat.

“Yes,” Bella replied, also taking a seat.

“I’ve been so confused here lately,” Hallie said. “You are both great girls. Bella, you’re my best friend and my girlfriend. I love you so much.”

Bella smiled.

“And Lana, you are such a great friend. You’re always there for me. You make me smile when it feels like my world is falling in.”

Lana smiled at Hallie. “Thanks.”

“I am in love with both of you and it’s so hard because I know I shouldn’t. I know both of you want me to come to a decision so you can go on with your lives, but the truth is I need a week to think about it. No trying to get me to choose you, no interference. Just a week of me having time to make a decision on my own. I hope you both can respect that.”

“I do,” Bella said.

“Of course,” Lana answered.

The next day, Aldy and the rest of the New Direction boys stood in the middle of the choir room. Aldy took the microphone off the stand.

“So, this is a mash-up that we decided to do as a group number for the guys. We mashed up The Killers’ “Somebody Told Me” with The Gorillaz’s “Feel Good, Inc.” We thought it made an interesting choice for a mash-up. Although, I have to admit it might not be that great. I’ve never done a mash-up before.”

“I’m sure it will be great, Will said.

The band began to play the music as Aldy stepped forward.

“Feel good,” all the boys sang.

“Breaking my back just to know your name,” Aldy sang. “Seventeen tracks and I've had it with this game.”

“Feel good,” the boys sang. “Feel good.”

“I'm breaking my back,”Kevin sang. “Just to know your name but heaven ain't close in a place like this.”

“Anything goes but don't blink you might miss,” Lucas sang.

“City's breakin' down on a camel's back,” Jaxon sang. “They just have to go 'cos they don't know when. So all you fill the streets it's appealing to see, you won't get out the county, 'cos you're bad and free.”

“You've got a new horizon it's ephemeral style,”James sang. “A melancholy town where we never smile and all I wanna hear is the message beep. My dreams, they gotta catch me, 'cos I don't get sleep, no.”

“Pace yourself from me,”Evan sang. “I said maybe, baby, please. But I just don't know now. When all I wanna do is try.”

“Windmill, windmill for the land,” all the boys sang. “Turn forever hand in hand. Take it all in on your stride. It is sticking, falling down. Love forever, love is free. Let's turn forever you and me. Windmill, windmill for the land. Is everybody in?”

Laughing gas these hazmats, fast cats,”Miles rapped. “Lining them up like butt cracks. Ladies, ponies, at the track, it's my chocolate attack. Shoot, I'm stepping in the heart of this here. Care bear reppin' in the heart of this here, watch me as I gravitate. Haha haha ha. Yo, we goin' to ghost town, this Motown with yo' sound you in the blink. Gon' bite the dust, can't fight with us with your sound you kill the Inc. So, don't stop, get it, get it until you're cheddar, header, watch the way I navigate. Haha haha ha.”

“Bring it back down, bring it back down tonight,” Lucas sang. “Never thought I'd let a rumor ruin my moonlight.”

“Pace yourself from me, from me,”Aldy sang. “I said maybe, baby please. But I just don't know now.”

“Windmill, windmill for the land,” all the boys sang. “Turn forever hand in hand. Take it all in on your stride. It is sticking, falling down. Love forever, love is free. Let's turn forever you and me. Windmill, windmill for the land. Is everybody in? Well somebody told me you had a boyfriend, who looked like a girlfriend that I had in February of last year. It's not confidential, I've got potential a rushin', a rushin' around.”

“Pace yourself from me,” Aldy sang. “I said maybe, baby please. But I just don't know now. When all I wanna do is try.”

“Feel good,” the boys sang.

Aldy took a bow as the rest of the room burst into applause. Will stood up and clapped.

“That works so well as a mash-up,” Will said. “Good job, guys.”

“Well, Jaxon did a lot of the work,” Aldy said.

Jaxon seemed to get all fuzzy inside at Aldy’s comment. The jealousy on James’ face was clear.

“Alright,” Will said. “Who wants to go next?”

Hallie and Bella raised their hands. Will pointed to them. Lana looked upset, crossing her arms and leaning back in her chair.

“Let’s hear it, ladies,” Will said.

As the boys walked back to their seats, Bella and Hallie took their places.

“I came to win,” Bella sang. “To fight, to conquer, to thrive. I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise. To fly, to--”

“Fly,”they both sang.

“Open up the part of you that wants to hide away,” Hallie sang. “You can shine, forget about the reasons why you can't in life and start to try. ‘Cause it's your time, time to fly.”

“In a moment, everything can change,”Bella sang. “Feel the wind on your shoulder. For a minute, all the world can wait. Let go of your yesterday.”

“Can you hear it calling?”Bella and Hallie sang. “Can you feel it in your soul? Can you trust this longing and take control?”

“And when you're down and feel alone,” Bella sang. “Just want to run away. Trust yourself and don't give up. You know you better than anyone else.”

“In a moment, everything can change,”Hallie sang. “Feel the wind on your shoulder. For a minute, all the world can wait. Let go of yesterday.”

“Get ready for it,” Bella and Hallie sang. “Get ready for it, get ready for it. I came to win. Get ready for it, get ready for it. get ready for it.”

Lana looked upset as she sat back and everyone else applauded.

So much for no interference, Lana thought.

Nicole sighed as she walked down the hallway, headed toward the Dalton common room.

I know that Dillon dumped me and that this visit comes unannounced but I just have to talk to him. Sure, I could call him, but some things deserve more than a phone call. I just had to show Dillon that I had let go of the person India tried to change me into. And another thing, how come almost every bad thing that happens has the name India attached to it?

“Nicole?” Dillon asked, standing up from his seat. Chuck smiled at Nicole upon seeing her.

“Hope I’m not interrupting anything,” Nicole said, putting her hands into her jeans pockets.

“Chuck had a dilemma that we were discussing,” Dillon said.

“Oh,” Nicole said.

“But it can wait,” Chuck said. “I have a lot more of Dillon’s time than you do and you came all this way by yourself.”

“Quite a long bus ride,” Nicole responded.

“I’ll just leave you two alone,” Chuck said, hugging Nicole on his way out.

“So, I noticed you’re not all dolled up like a Vegas showgirl anymore,” Dillon said, analyzing Nicole’s purple sweater, blue jeans, and sneakers.

“That really wasn’t me, Dillon. I feel so stupid for letting India do that to me. The truth is, I am so tired of being overlooked, trampled in the hallways, and having to battle to find a lunch seat. It wasn’t because I wasn’t happy with my looks. It was because I just for once wanted to know what it was like to not feel invisible.”

Dillon took Nicole’s hand. “You’re not invisible to me. You’re all I can see.”

Nicole smiled as she felt tears welling up in her eyes. “I love you, Dillon.”

Dillon smiled back. “And I love you, too. Ever since I first laid eyes on you at Sectionals last year. You were the prettiest, smartest girl in that whole theater.”

“Well, there is not another boy who looks as damper as you in that blazer,” Nicole said, running her fingers along the piping.

“So, how about we celebrate our reconciliation with a song?” Dillon asked, grabbing his guitar from beside the sofa.

“You play guitar?” Nicole said.

“X has been teaching me. I only know one song. ‘Save Tonight’ by Eagle Eye Cherry.”

“I love that song,” Nicole said. “We have this assignment in Glee Club to create a mash-up. I think I know a song that would go great with that if you just follow my lead.”

Dillon smiled. “Okay. I’ll start us off.”

“Go on and close the curtains,” Dillon sang, strumming his guitar. “’Cause all we need is candlelight, you and me, and a bottle of wine to hold you tonight. Well, we know I'm going away. And how I wish, I wish it weren't so. Take this wine and drink with me and let's delay our misery.”

“I'd catch a grenade for you,” Nicole sang. “Throw my hand on a blade for you. I'd jump in front of a train for you. You know I'd do anything for you. I would go through all this pain. Take a bullet straight through my brain. Yes, I would die for you, baby, but you won't do the same.”

“There's a log on the fire and it burns like me for you,”Dillon sang. “Tomorrow comes with one desire: to take me away. It ain't easy to say good-bye. Darlin' please, don't start to cry cause girl you know I've got to go. And Lord I wish it wasn't so.”

“Save tonight and fight the break of dawn,” Nicole and Dillon sang. “Come tomorrow, tomorrow I'll be gone. Save tonight and fight the break of dawn. Come tomorrow, tomorrow I'll be gone.”

Tomorrow comes to take me away,” Dillon sang. “I wish that I, that I could stay. But girl you know I've got to go. And Lord I wish wasn't so. Save tonight.”

“I’d catch a grenade for you,”Nicole sang.

“And fight the break of dawn,”Dillon sang.

“Throw my hand on a blade for you.”

“Come tomorrow, tomorrow I'll be gone.”

“I'd jump in front of a train for you.”

“Save tonight.”

“You know I'd do anything for you.”

“And fight the break of dawn.”

“You know I'd do anything for you.”

“Come tomorrow, tomorrow I'll be gone.”

“You know I'd do anything for you.”

“Tomorrow I’ll be gone.”

Nicole smiled at Dillon as she leaned in to kiss him. Upon breaking the kiss, she accidentally knocked his glasses with hers. They took a second to fix each other’s glasses before Nicole wrapped her arms around Dillon.

Evan sighed as he started to set the table. He didn’t even notice the doorbell ringing. After he finished setting the table, he walked into the living room and was surprised to see Lucas standing there.

“Lucas?” Evan asked, shocked.

“I thought about what you said,” Lucas said. “And you were right. Hope you still have a place for me at the table.”

“Of course we do,” Kristen said, squeezing Lucas’ shoulder slightly. “There is always room at my table for my baby’s boyfriend.”

“You seem really accepting,” Lucas said, smiling.

“This home is built on love, tolerance, and acceptance,” Lorenzo said.

“So,” Evan said, walking forward and taking Lucas’ hand. “Come into the kitchen and grab a plate and make yourself at home.”

Lucas smiled. “This is the first time in my life I’ve ever felt loved and accepted in a long time.”

Kristen reached forward and took Lucas into her arms. “You are loved and accepted here, baby.”

“So, what are we having?” Lucas asked.

“Grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cornbread, and bread pudding for dessert,” Lorenzo said. “Kristen is such a great cook.”

Kristen smiled. “I have to be with these two men eating me out of house and home.”

Everyone laughed.

“Thanks for inviting me,” Lucas told Evan.

“Be sure to eat up,” Kristen said. “You’re a growing boy.

The next afternoon, Jaxon waited patiently for James to arrive so he could walk him to the choir room. James finally appeared, flanked by Aldy and a blonde girl.

James wore his sunglasses, which he hadn’t done in a long time. Jaxon immediately knew something was up.

“Hey, baby,” James said, hugging Jaxon.

Jaxon looked at Aldy and then at the blonde girl.

“Well, let’s get going,” Aldy said.

“Bye,” the girl said.

“Who’s the girl? Jaxon asked as she and Aldy walked away.

“Taylor Atknison,” James said. “She’s a friend of mine.”

“What’s with the glasses?” Jaxon asked. He reached for them, but James yanked away.

“Nothing. I wanted to wear them.”

Jaxon didn’t buy it. He took James’ glasses off, revealing a painful looking cut right beside James’ left eye.

“Oh, so what now, James? You’re jealous of Miles, too and you had to go and do this to compete with him?”

James pushed Jaxon’s hand away. “It was an accident.”

“Because of the people you’re hanging with. James, they’re dangerous. Whatever you’re doing is dangerous.”

“I’m not a kid, Jaxon. And I don’t need you worrying about me or telling me what to do!”

“Someone has to, James. What is it with you? You miss the feeling of your dad beating on you so you had to beat yourself up?”

“That was too far, Jaxon.”

Jaxon hung his head down. “It was. I’m sorry, James. I just worry about you. You’re so fragile and I see you get hurt like this and it kills me. I literally feel my heart breaking in two. I can’t stand the thought of anything bad happening to you.”

“I’m a big boy, okay? Just let me be happy, Jaxon. So, let’s go into the choir room and perform this song and just forget about everything we just said.”

Rose laid on top of the piano, microphone in her hand. She raised the microphone to her mouth as the music began.

“Doctor, doctor, need you back home, baby,” Rose sang. “Doctor, doctor, where you at? Give me something. I need your love, I need your love, I need your loving. You got that kind of medicine that keeps me coming.”

“For the longest while we jamming in the party,”Jaxon sang, standing up from his seat, microphone in hand, and walking to the middle of the room. “And you're whining on me, pushing everything right back on top of me, yea hey.”

“But if you think you're gonna get away from me,”James sang, joining Jaxon. “You better change your mind. You're going home, you're going home with me tonight.”

“Let me hold you,” Jaxon and James sang. “Boy caress my body. You got me going crazy. You turn me on, turn me on.”

“Make me come alive,” Rose and Kevin sang. “Come on turn me on. Touch me, save my life, come on and turn me on. I'm too young to die, come on and turn me on. Turn me on, turn me on, turn me on, turn me on.”

“For the longest while we jamming in the party,”Jaxon sang, standing up from his seat, microphone in hand, and walking to the middle of the room. “And you're whining on me, pushing everything right back on top of me, yea hey.”

“But if you think you're gonna get away from me,”James sang. “You better change your mind. You're going home, you're going home with me tonight.”

“Oh, you make it, make it right,”Kevin sang. My temperature is super high. If I scream, if I cry, it's only 'cause I feel alive. My body needs a hero, come and save me. Something tells me you know how to save me. I've been feeling weird, oh. Oh, I need you to come and rescue me.”

“Let me hold you,”Jaxon and James sang. “Boy caress my body. You got me going crazy. You turn me on, turn me on.”

“Make me come alive,”Rose and Kevin sang. “Come on turn me on. Touch me, save my life, come on and turn me on. I'm too young to die, come on and turn me on. Turn me on, turn me on, turn me on, turn me on.”

“You've got my life in the palm of your hands,”Rose sang. “Come and save me now. I know you can, I know you can.”

Boy just hug me, hug me”James sang. “Kiss me, squeeze me, hug me, hug me, kiss & caress me.”

“I know you can save me and make me feel alive,”Kevin sang.

“Make me come alive,” Rose and Kevin sang. “Come on turn me on. Touch me, save my life, come on and turn me on. I'm too young to die, come on and turn me on. Turn me on, turn me on, turn me on, turn me on.”

“Hug me, hug me, kiss me, kiss me,”James and Jaxon sang. “Hug me, hug me, kiss and caress me. Hug me, hug me, squeeze me, squeeze me. “Hug me, boy, and kiss and caress me.”

Nicole didn’t know what to think when she saw the heart shaped box under her chair. She grabbed it, puzzled.

“Valentine’s isn’t until four months from now,” Nicole said, as she studied the box.

“Maybe it’s from a secret admirer,” Rose said.

“That would be so cool,” Honey said.

Nicole laughed. “Me? A secret admirer? This is obviously a gift from Dillon to celebrate us getting back together.”

Lana looked skeptical. “How would Dillon stick that under your chair in the choir room unnoticed?”

“Good point,” Rose said.

Nicole gently opened the box and took out a small bottle. “Wow. Perfume.”

Honey grabbed the small card inside the box and read it aloud. “I couldn’t help but noticed you wear Fantasy by Britney Spears, so I got you some. Love, your secret admirer. Oh my gosh, Nicole! What are you gonna do? What if Dillon finds out?”

“Relax,” Nicole said. “It’s Dillon. He’s trying to be romantic and sweet and it’s working.”

“Oh no, no, no,” Lana said. “I disagree. This is someone else. I don’t know who but this whole gift screams ‘I like you, please pay attention to me.’ It’s not a gift to celebrate getting back together. That’s like roses or flowers. Candy, even.”

Nicole raised an eyebrow. “You really think so?”

Lana nodded. “Someone has it bad for you.”

Will quickly ushered everyone into the April Rhodes Civic Pavilion. They took their seats as he and Sue walked to the front, right in front of the stage.

“Alright,” Will said. “It’s the final day of mash it up week and that means that it’s time for the showdown between The Femme Fatales and New Directions. I notice that the Femme Fatales has a new face.”

“Hi,” a blonde girl said, raising her hand. “I’m Samantha Walker, I’m a Cheerio and the newest member of Coach Sylvester’s Femme Fatales.”

“Welcome aboard,” Scarlet said, shaking her hand.

Jennifer and Karina smiled at each other.

“So that means we’ve almost got enough members to compete at Sectionals,” Natasha said.

“You guys ready to go?” Will said.

“Of course,” Lana said, getting up and leading the other Femme Fatales to the stage.

“This is gonna rock,” Jennifer said.

“Well, New Directions, we Femme Fatales have decided that we were gonna rock n’ roll you,” Lana said. “Hit it!”

“Buddy you're a boy, make a big noise,” Lana sang. “Playing in the street gonna be a big man some day. You got mud on your face, you big disgrace. Kicking your can all over the place, singing--”

“We will , we will rock you,”the Femme Fatales sang. “Love rock n roll. We will, we will rock you. Love rock n roll.”

“Where I come from isn't all that great,” Natasha sang. “My automobile is a piece of crap. My fashion sense is a little whack. And my friends are just as greedy as me.”

“I didn't go to boarding schools,” Adam sang. “Preppie girls never looked at me. Why should they? I ain't nobody, got nothing in my pocket.”

“Beverly Hills,”the Femme Fatales sang. “That's where I want to be. I love rock n roll. Living in Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills, rolling like a celebrity. I love rock n roll. Living in Beverly Hills.”

“Look at all those movie stars,”India sang. “They're all so beautiful and clean. When the housemaids scrub the floors, they get the spaces in between.”

“I wanna live a life like that,” Scarlet sang. “I wanna be just like a queen.”

“Take my picture by the pool,” Samantha sang.

“’Cause I'm the next big thing,” India sang, pushing Samantha out of the way.

“Beverly Hills, that's where I want to be,” the Femme Fatales sang. “I love rock n roll. Livin' in Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills, rolling like a celebrity. I love rock n roll. Livin' in Beverly Hills.”

“Buddy you're a young man, hard man,” Lana sang. “Shouting in the street, gonna take on the world someday. You got blood on your face, you big disgrace. Waving your banner all over the place, singin’--”

“We will , we will rock you,”the Femme Fatales sang. “Love rock n roll. We will, we will rock you. Love rock n roll.”

“The truth is I don't stand a chance,” Adam sang. “It's something that you're born into and I just don't belong.”

“No I don't, I'm just a no-class beat down fool,” Natasha sang. “And I will always be that way.”

“I might as well enjoy my life and watch the stars play,”Karina sang.

“Beverly Hills, that's where I want to be,” the Femme Fatales sang. “I love rock n roll. Livin' in Beverly Hills. Beverly Hills, rolling like a celebrity. I love rock n roll. Livin' in Beverly Hills.”

“We will , we will rock you,”the Femme Fatales sang. “Love rock n roll. We will, we will rock you. Love rock n roll.”

“Living in Beverly Hills,”Lana sang.

The curtain swung close as New Directions burst into applause.

“That was an amazing mash-up, ladies, Will said. “And Adam. Pure genius. I know that New Directions can’t to deliver their mash-up. You guys ready?”

New Directions nodded.

After New Directions had the time to get ready and the Femme Fatales were seated, it was time for New Directions to perform. The curtains opened and James stepped forward.

“Oo-oo-ooh,” James sang. “Two-zero-one-two. Oo-oo-ooh. It’s alright. Oh, it’s alright.”

“You know what they say,”Miles sang. “Life ain't always easy every day. We're survivors.”

“So forget the day,”Breezy sang. “It's all about tonight, act a fool and start a riot.”

“The club can’t even handle me right now,”New Directions sang.

“Bottles popping 'til we can't stand,”Aldy sang. “We keep it rocking 'til 6 am.”

“Mash it up,”New Directions sang. “I wanna celebrate and like my life. Turn it up, turn it up like it’s dynamite. Cause we gonna rock this club like it’s the end of the world. We gonna light it up like it’s 2012. You know that it doesn't matter as long as we got each other. Turn it up, turn it up, like it’s dynamite.”

“Oo-oo-ooh,”James sang. “Oo-oo-ooh.”

“Turn it up, turn it up, mash it up,”New Directions sang. “It ain't the end of the world.”

“It goes on and on and on,”Evan sang. “And it goes on and on and on.”

“Club can’t even handle me right now,”Lucas sang. “Bottles popping 'til we can't stand. We keep it rocking 'til 6 am.”

“Club can’t even handle me right now,”Bella sang. “I wanna celebrate and live my life. Turn it up, turn it up, mash it up. Club can’t even handle me right now.”

“Cuz we gonna rock this club,”Jaxon sang. “And let's make tonight go down like dynamite in history, yeah.

“Cuz I told you once, it's the last 24 hours and we gonna light it up, up.”Rose sang.

“The club can’t even handle me right now,”New Directions sang.

“Bottles popping 'til we can't stand,”Kevin sang.

“Oo-oo-ooh,” James sang. “Oo-oo-ooh.”

“Turn it up, turn it up, mash it up,” New Directions sang. “It ain't the end of the world.”

Scream out I'm in the building,”Miles rapped. “They watching, I know this. I'm rocking, I'm rolling, I'm holding, I know it, you know it.”

“I'm gonna be the last one standing,”Honey sang. “I'm alone and all I, I'm gonna be the last one landing.”

“I am a ladies man,”Miles sang. “Come and be my lady and we can ball, so, ah!”

“So let's start it with here right now,”Nicole sang. “Party like, like it's the end of the world. We gonna party like, like it's 2012.”

“Because the world keeps spinning,”James sang. “The world keeps spinning around.”

Will stood up and applauded, followed by the Femme Fatales.

“Guys, I loved the vibe,” Will said. “This is gonna be a tough one but I think I have to give it to the Femme Fatales. That was a genius mash-up and I loved the in-your-face rock vibe. Lana, you’re a great rocker. You remind me of a young Joan Jett.”

“Thanks,” Lana said.

Lana watched India walk down the hallway.

All I can think about is how bad I wanna get her back. Her time is gonna come, I swear to God. I know I have to walk away right now. It’s not the time to take on India. I have bigger fish to fry.

Lana slung her backpack over her shoulder and walked toward Hallie’s locker.

“No interference?” Lana asked.

Hallie smiled. “We had that planned beforehand. Besides, it’s not like it changed how I feel. I still don’t see fireworks when I kiss Bella. And I still cannot deny my feelings for you.”

“Does this count as interference?” Lana asked.

Hallie smiled as she gave Lana a wink. “Consider it a freebie.”

Lana smiled as Hallie walked away, looking back at her once last time before disappearing into the crowd.
