But Jaxon is still confused over his feelings for James. Miles was one of Lana’s first friends at McKinley and Breezy thought they had something going on. Nicole is still going strong with Warbler Dillon, whose friend Chuck also kissed Claude and just found out he’s gonna be a father to mean girl Holy Roller, Chastity Vega’s baby. Boy does that Claude get around! Lucas is still dealing with the after effects of being gay bashed. Turns out some things take time. Speaking of gay bashing, Chad is actually gay, as is Natasha. They’re dating as beards so they can stay in the closet until they get who they have their eyes set on. However, Lana and Reece both know Chad’s secret.

And that’s what you missed on Glee!

Rose pulled her lips away from Kevin’s and sat up. She reached over and grabbed her cell phone off the dresser, answering it on the second ring.

“Rose speaking,” she said.

“Here’s the deal,” Honey said. “Hiram, Leroy, and Rachel are all gonna be gone New Year’s Eve night. Jaxon got Brittany and Santana to score some alcohol. Party at my place. Glee club, their closest friends, and significant others only.”

“I’m so in,” Rose said.

“What is it?” Kevin asked, sitting up.

“Party at Honey’s on New Year’s Eve.”

“Righteous,” Kevin said. “I’ll be there.”

“We’ll both be there,” Rose said.

“Great,” Honey said. “See you tomorrow night, then.”

“Bye, girl,” Rose said, hanging up. She tossed her phone aside on the bed and turned to face Kevin. “Where were we?”

Kevin smiled big, his eyes lighting up. “I believe we were kissing.”

Rose chuckled as she leaned in and kissed Kevin.

Honey smiled warmly as Leroy and Hiram took turns hugging her. Rachel was next, giving Honey a little squeeze as she hugged her.

“Bye, sis,” Rachel said.

“Take care,” Honey said.

“And remember,” Hiram said. “No wild parties.”

“And no boys,” Leroy added.

Honey chuckled. “You don’t have to worry about me, Dads.”

“But we still do, sweetheart,” Hiram said.

Rachel looked over at James, who was standing there, his arms crossed and a depressed look on his face. She smiled as she walked over to give him a hug.

“Give me a hug. You’re practically family, James,” Rachel said, taking James into her arms. “Take care, buddy. Okay?”

James nodded.

“And get that smile back,” Rachel added.

Honey waved at Hiram, Leroy, and Rachel as they walked out the door. Honey turned to James, a huge mischievous smile on her face.

“Let’s call Jaxon and get him to bring the alcohol and help us get set up,” Honey said.

“Do we have to?” James asked.

“James, break-ups happen. You can’t just avoid Jaxon completely and totally because he broke your heart. That’s ridiculous.”

“He kissed Claude. I heard him and Miles talking about it.”

“That happened after both of you broke up, James. Besides, just because they kissed, it doesn’t mean he still doesn’t love you. Jaxon told you that he’d give you another chance once you got your life straightened out. Have you been making an attempt to do that?”

“There’s nothing to straighten out. This is who I am.”

“Really?” Honey asked, raising her eyebrow. “So the whole obsession with leather, the smoking, sneaking in all hours of the morning, the drag racing – all of that you is you, right?”

James shook his head. “Why are you lecturing me?”

“Because maybe I care enough about you to say the things everyone else is too afraid to say. I’m not gonna walk on eggshells around you. You’re a mess, James. And you’re a fraud because you aren’t being the person you really are. You’re being an Aldy clone and it makes me sick because I love the James you used to be.”

“That’s mean, Honey,” James said.

“No, it’s the truth. Do you even remember why you started acting like this, huh? To get Jaxon’s attention because he thought Aldy was cute. And now it’s cost you Jaxon. So why can’t you drop it and move on? Focus on getting your boyfriend back?”

“I like who I am now. I don’t feel so helpless, so weak, so fragile. I feel like I’m not alone, like I have friends.”

“You always had that in Glee Club,” Honey said.

“But Glee Club didn’t make me feel like I was capable of defending myself. My dad beat me up a lot, Honey. Do you have any idea what that does to a kid?”

Honey shook her head, a lump growing in her throat.

“I don’t wanna be a scared, helpless kid anymore,” James said, a tear running down his cheek. “I don’t want Jaxon to have to protect me all his life. He doesn’t deserve that. That’s why I did this, Honey. Aldy and his friends made me tougher, able to survive on my own. If I ever see my dad again and he hits me, I can fight back now. I don’t have to hide my bruises under sunglasses anymore.”

Jaxon walked into Honeys house, flanked by Declan, Santana, and Brittany. Each had a couple bags which clinked with every step.

“We brought the fun juice,” Jaxon said with a laugh.

Honey smiled as she took a bag from Jaxon and sat it down on the table.

“Oh I remember this place,” Brittany said “This is where everyone in Glee Club did body shots off me during Alcohol Awareness Week.”

“Wanky,” Santana joked.

“You guys wanna help me set up?” Honey asked.

“Sure,” Jaxon said.

Claude walked into the Warbler’s common room, holding his cell phone and smiling. Dillon looked up at him.

“What’s up, Claude?” He asked.

“I just got off the phone with Jaxon and it seems Honey is throwing a New Year’s Eve party. You, Chuck, and I all got invitations.”

“What about me?” Wyatt asked, sitting down his copy of the Hunger Games.

“Guess they forgot about you. Or Lana doesn’t want you there,” Claude explained.

“Well isn’t that great?” Wyatt asked. “Always the black sheep.”

“I’m definitely going,” Claude said. “Anything to get closer to Jaxon. He’s quite a fox.”

Chuck rolled his eyes. “Everyone knows who Jaxon really loves. Don’t waste your time, Claudey Boy.”

“You’re forgetting, Chuck. Claude always gets what Claude wants. You should know that.”

“Well, I’m not going,” Chuck said. “I just need some quiet time alone. But by all means, you guys go have fun.”

“I’m not going either,” Dillon said. “Nicole and I already have a date planned and I don’t think switching it to some loud, alcohol fueled party would be very romantic.”

“So, am I the only one who’s gonna be going?” Claude asked.

“No,” Wyatt answered. “I’m gonna crash.”

The music was loud as Claude walked into the basement. He took a look around and saw Jaxon. He started to make his way toward him.

“Karaoke time!” Evan shouted as he took the stage and grabbed the bedazzled microphone. “I need a duet partner. Lucas, baby, come on up!”

Claude nonchalantly slid down the wall to prop beside Jaxon.

“Hey,” Claude said. “Miss me?”

Jaxon smiled. “Maybe.”

“Come on, you know you miss me. All the boys and girls say that Claude is quite the charmer. One kiss from me and I’ll stay on your mind.”

“Referring to yourself in the third person. Am I supposed to be impressed?” Jaxon asked.

“Infatuated is more like it.”

Jaxon laughed. “Yeah, I’m not there yet. But keep trying.”

Evan took his microphone as the music began to play. He looked over at Lucas, who had joined him and smiled.

“Turn up the music, cause this song just came on,” Evan sang. “Turn up the music, if they try to turn us down. Turn up the music, can I hear it till the speakers blow? Turn up the music, fill your cup and drink it down. If you’re sexy and you know it put your hands up in the air. Put your hands up in the air, girl, put your hands up. If you’re sexy and you know it put your hands up in the air. Put your hands up in the air, girl, put your hands up.”

“Turn up the music, just turn it up loud,” Evan and Lucas sang. “Turn up the music, I need it in my life, yeah. Turn up the music, just turn it up loud. Turn up the music, I need it in my life, yeah. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Turn up the music. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Turn up the music. Turn up the music. T-turn up the--”

“Turn up the music ‘cause I feel a little turned on,” Lucas sang. “Turn up the music, don’t you try to turn me down. Turn up the music, and I feel just a little bounce. Turn up the music, turn me down.”

“If you’re sexy and you know it put your hands up in the air,” Evan sang. “Put your hands up in the air, girl, put your hands up.

“See it rise baby you are the one who,” Evan sang.

“So let’s go tonight and do whatever it takes to make it right,” Lucas sang.

“Just turn it up,” Evan sang. “Just turn it up. Just turn it up. Just turn it up.”

“Just turn it up. Just turn it up. Just turn it up. Just turn it up,” Lucas sang.

“I love you baby,” Evan sang.

T-turn up the-- turn it up. Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, turn it up. Turn up the music.”

Claude moved closer to Jaxon. He leaned into his ear .

“One night with me will change your life,” Claude whispered.

Jaxon smiled. “Sorry, but ever since last New Year’s Eve when I got drunk and cheated on my boyfriend, I made it a habit not to sleep with random guys.”

“Babe, I’m anything but random,” Claude said with a flirtatious smile.

“The answer is no,” Jaxon said. “But I wouldn’t say no to maybe hanging out again sometime.”

“Well,” Claude said. “I’ll remember that.”

Wyatt made his way through the crowd, trying not to seem out of place. He was taken aback when a hand grabbed him and pulled him into the kitchen.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing here?” Lana asked.

“What are you doing here? I thought you hated alcohol after your drunken--”

“Wyatt, we agreed to never mention that!” Lana said, her tone of voice getting stern.

“Ashamed of it, huh?” Wyatt asked, smiling mischievously.

“I swear I’m about to clean your clock, Wyatt,” Lana said., balling up her fists.

“Calm down, Sis. Take a chill pill,” Wyatt said, pushing past Lana.

“Oh life, it's bigger,” Lana sang. “It's bigger than you and you are not me.”

“The lengths that I will go to,” Wyatt sang. “The distance in your eyes.”

“Oh no, I've said too much,” Lana and Wyatt sang. “I set it up.” {C

“That's me in the corner,” Wyatt sang.

“That's me in the spotlight,” Lana sang. {C

“Losing my religion,” Lana and Wyatt sang. “Trying to keep a view and I don't know if I can do it. Oh no, I've said too much. I haven't said enough. I thought that I heard you laughing. I thought that I heard you sing. I think I thought I saw you try.”

And they sang, Lana and Wyatt circled around each other like wolves sizing up their prey.

“Every whisper of every waking hour,” Lana sang. “I'm choosing my confessions.” {C

“Trying to keep an eye on you,” Wyatt sang. “Like a hurt, lost and blinded fool, fool.” {C

“Oh no, I've said too much,” Lana and Wyatt sang. “I set it up.”

“That's me in the corner,” Wyatt sang. {C

“That's me in the spotlight,” Lana sang.

“Losing my religion,” Lana and Wyatt sang. “Trying to keep a view and I don't know if I can do it. Oh no, I've said too much. I haven't said enough. I thought that I heard you laughing. I thought that I heard you sing. I think I thought I saw you try.” {C

“Consider this,” Lana sang. “Consider this, the hint of the century. Consider this, the slip that brought me to my knees, failed.” {C

“What if all these fantasies come flaming aground?” Wyatt sang. “Now I've said too much.”

“I thought that I heard you laughing,” Lana and Wyatt sang. “I thought that I heard you sing. I think I thought I saw you try.”

“But that was just a dream,” Lana sang.

“That was just a dream,” Wyatt sang.

“That's me in the corner,” Wyatt sang.

“That's me in the spotlight,” Lana sang.

“Losing my religion,” Lana and Wyatt sang. “Trying to keep a view and I don't know if I can do it. Oh no, I've said too much. I haven't said enough. I thought that I heard you laughing. I thought that I heard you sing. I think I thought I saw you try.” {C

“But that was just a dream,” Lana sang. {C

“Try, cry, why try,” Wyatt sang. {C

“That was just a dream.”

“Just a dream, just a dream, dream.”

Lana watched, confused as Wyatt gave her one last look before walking down the steps into the basement and getting lost in the crowd. {C

As Evan kissed Lucas, Lucas shut the door and locked it. Evan began to fumble with his belt as he walked backwards toward the bed. {C

“It doesn’t feel right doing this in James’ bed,” Lucas said. {C

“James won’t care,” Evan said, taking off his shirt. {C

Evan lowered himself onto the bed and reached for Lucas’ shirt, pulling it over his head. Lucas joined him on the bed, allowing Evan to lean over on top of him. As Evan kissed him again, his ran his hand along Lucas’s stomach and up to his ribs. As Evan grazed Lucas’ ribs, Lucas flinched. {C

“What’s wrong?” Evan asked. {C

Lucas laid there, silent, replaying in his mind how Chad had kicked him there repeatedly, breaking his ribs. Evan looked at him, confused. After a moment of silence, Evan went back to kissing Lucas, running his hand along Lucas’ chest. {C

“Ow!” Lucas cried out. “Stop! Stop! Stop!” {C

Evan pulled his hand away and raised up. “Did I hurt you?” {C

“I can’t do this. Every time you touch me, I can feel the pain,” Lucas said, tears in his eyes. {C

“What pain?” Evan asked. {C

“When Chad beat me, okay?” {C

Lucas pushed himself out from under Evan and grabbed his shirt. He pulled it over his head and walked out the door. Evan just sat there, motionless and unable to speak. {C

Hallie watched, uneasy as Bella took Reece by the hand and lead him up the stairs. Breezy propped up on the wall beside Hallie. {C

“Where’s Lana?” Breezy asked. {C

“Chasing her brother off. He crashed the party,” Hallie said. {C

“Does the whole Bella and Reece thing still bother you?” Breezy asked. {C

“It’s not that I’m not over Bella if that’s what you’re thinking,” Hallie said. {C

“Just asking,” Breezy replied. {C

“Reece is my cousin and I guess I don’t want him dating my exes. It’s gotta be something like the family version of the bro code. That’s one reason I usually don’t date bisexual girls.” {C

“I wish Miles would notice me. He hasn’t even looked at me once tonight.” {C

“Then you gotta do something to get his attention,” Hallie said. {C

“And how do I do that?” Breezy asked. {C

“He’s a guy, after all. You just gotta grab his male attention.” {C

“But how?” Breezy asked. {C

Hallie smiled. “You have so much to learn, Breezy. And that’s coming from a lesbian.” {C

James took a seat beside Claude at the mini bar. He sat aside his cup at looked at Claude. {C

“So, you’re into Jaxon, huh?” James asked, his speech a little slurred. {C

“Maybe,” Claude said. “After all, you two have broken up. He’s fair game now.” {C

“We’re taking a break,” James replied. “Stay away from him. Got it?” {C

“Why don’t you make me, tough guy?” Claude said, smirking. {C

James stood up and smiled at Claude. “This isn’t over.” {C

“Please,” Claude scoffed. “It never begun.” {C

James glared at Claude as he walked off. Honey noticed James’ drunkenness as he tried to walk down the steps and rushed to his side. {C

“Easy, sport,” Honey said. “You’ve had one too many.” {C

“I’m fine,” James said. {C

“No, you’re not,” Honey said. “Sit down for a few minutes.” {C

“Stop treating me like a kid!” James asserted. {C

Honey sighed, frustrated. “James, come on.” {C

“Leave him be,” Declan said. “You’re not his mom.” {C

“I’m practically his older sister. Since Jaxon dumped him, someone has to look after him.” {C

“Don’t you see?” Declan asked. “That’s what this is all about. He’s tired of people fighting his battles. Stop trying to be Jaxon and let James make his own mistakes.” {C

Honey was shocked. “You’re taking his side?” {C

“I know a cry for help when I see one. He’s crying for help, but it’s himself he’s wanting the help from. He needs to find himself and frankly, you need to let him.” {C

“Typical that you’d take the side of your brother’s boyfriend over your own girlfriend!” Honey said. {C

“There’s no taking sides here. Why can’t you see that?” Declan asked. {C

Honey shook her head and went back into the basement, leaving Declan alone with James. {C

Rose and Breezy each grabbed a microphone and stood with their backs together as the music began to play over the speakers. {C

“Let's get it on, yeah, y'all can come along,” Rose sang. “Everybody drinks on me. Bought out the bar just to feel like I'm a star. Now I'm thanking the academy.” {C

Rose turned around and put her arm around Breezy. Kevin raised an eyebrow, obviously not opposed to the sight. {C

“Missed my ride home, lost my iPhone,” Breezy sang. “I wouldn't have it any other way. If you're with me let me hear you say.” {C

“I like it like that!” Rose and Breezy sang. “Hey windows down, chillin' with the radio on. I like it like that! Damn, sun's so hot, make the girls take it all off.” {C

As they sung that line, Breezy and Rose seductively flashed a little leg. Kevin smiled from ear to ear. {C

“I like it like that! Yeah, one more time, I can never get enough. Oh, everybody, sing it right back, I like it like that! I like it like that.” {C

“Till the break of the dawn, yeah, party on my lawn,” Rose sang. “Whistle as the girls walk by if the cops roll up.” {C

“So what?” The crowd chanted, hands in the air. {C

“Pour the cops a cup cause everybody's here tonight,” Breezy sang. “Call a taxi, pack the back seat. I wouldn't have it any other way. If you're with me let me hear you say.”

Rose and Breezy began to hang all over one another, acting flirty and touchy-feely. Miles finally took noticed, biting his lower lip as he watched.

“I like it like that!” Rose and Breezy sang. “Hey windows down, chillin' with the radio on. I like it like that! Damn, sun's so hot, make the girls take it all off. I like it like that! Yeah, one more time, I can never get enough. Oh, everybody, sing it right back, I like it like that! Oh oh oh oh, like that. Oh oh oh oh, like that. Oh oh oh oh, sing it right back, I like it like that.”

“Oh, the homie brought the booze,” Rose rapped. “I like it like that cause the girls playin' beer pong in the back. We havin' fun partying till the break of dawn. Go grab a cup, I dunno what people waitin' on. And I'm gonna want a girl that I know I can take home. In the zone, where I think I had lost my phone. You can tell by looking in the party's straight crack. And don't worry 'bout it, girls cause I like it like. I'm max faded at my grandma's house and leave your clothes over there, that's grandma couch. I be filmin' her friends too, yeah I'm back on that. Double D chicks huggin', I got racks on racks. Like, I don't want the luxuries of a superstar. I'm just tryin' to chill with Miley at the hookah bar. You like cartoons? I'll make your heart melt with the seat back, playin in the back, like.” {C

“I like it like that! Hey windows down, chillin' with the radio on. I like it like that! Damn, sun's so hot, make the girls take it all off. I like it like that! Yeah, one more time, I can never get enough. Oh, everybody, sing it right back, I like it like that! Oh oh oh oh, like that. Oh oh oh oh, like that. Oh oh oh oh, sing it right back, I like it like that. I like it like that.” {C

Rose threw her arms around Breezy and kissed her quickly on the lips. Kevin stood there, his mouth hanging open. {C

“I am so turned on right now,” he said. {C

Chastity Vega made her way down the steps, following Aldy, who had just arrived. He had been a complete gentleman, holding the door for her. {C

“Excuse me?” Chastity asked Aldy. “Have you seen Chuck?” {C

“Nope,” Aldy said. “Ask around. I wouldn’t know.” {C

As Aldy talked he loudly smacked his gum, which Chastity found irritating. {C

“Thanks anyway,” Chastity said. {C

As she turned around, Taylor blocked her path. {C

“Move along, Preggers,” Taylor said, glaring. {C

Chastity put her hands on her hips. “I don’t want your man. But trust me, if I did, I could have him.” {C

“I said get to stepping, Hoochie Mama.” {C

“Oh believe me, you don’t wanna have a bitch off with me,” Chastity said. “You will lose.” {C

Chastity smiled victoriously as she walked past Taylor, her hands on her hips. Taylor turned to face Aldy. {C

“You know I just wanna let you know that I never felt this way about anybody {C else,” Taylor sang. “I...I...I think I love you. So don't think I'm crazy when I tell you this, but if you ever hurt me, I'll kill you! You better go down when you get with me. You better realize that I'm what you need. You better get here before I count to three. You better do right, I'll mess you up! You never thought, that a bitch like me, would mess you up if you cannot please, so you better bow down and get on your knees. Pull the diamonds out, gimme what I need.”

Aldy looked at Taylor and laughed.

“Hold up! Do you see me laughing? You think that it's a joke, I’mma start harassing. All your little hoes that be trying to pass here. You better tell them I’mma kick they asses!”

“You got to be kidding me,” Aldy said. {C

“What?!” Taylor sang. “Who are you talking to? You better hang up or I'm through with you! And who the heck is this bitch on your page, with her big ole chest up on your top eight?”

As she sung, Taylor backed Aldy into a corner.

“’Cause I'm the crazy bitch that's runnin' the game. ‘Cause I'm the crazy bitch that's callin your name. ‘Cause I'm the crazy bitch, I ain't got no shame. I will mess you up! You better go down when you get with me. You better realize that I'm what you need. You better get here before I count to three. You better do right, I'll mess you up! How come every time you gonna do it again? Why you always drunk when you with ya friends? Shut the heck up and get in my Benz. Do what I say, I don't give a damn. You better obey if you want my nookie. You better stop talking to all them hoochies. You better wise up and listen to me. I will mess you up!”

Aldy tried to get away, but Taylor had him pinned in the corner.

I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you. Oh yeah, gimme what I need. I love you , I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you. Oh yeah, gimme what I need.” {C

“You know we’re not dating. We’re just having sex,” Aldy said. {C

“Yeah and sex isn’t dating,” Brittany said. {C

Taylor cut her eyes at Brittany, who quickly disappeared. {C

Chastity pushed Claude against the wall. He was shocked at first, thinking it was James and was prepared to fight back, but lowered his fist when he saw it was Chastity. {C

“Where is my baby’s father? The one you were kissing on?” Chastity demanded. {C

“I don’t know,” Claude replied. “He wanted to spend the night alone.” {C

“You had better not being lying to me or I’m gonna rip your balls off and tie them to the back of my truck.” {C

Claude swallowed the lump in his throat. “I’m not lying. Check Dalton. But please, don’t rip my balls off. I kind of need them.” {C

Chastity narrowed her eyes as she released Claude . “You’re lucky I believe you. But let me warn you, stay away from my man. Got it?” {C

“Pregnancy hormones?” Claude joked. {C

“Oh honey, this is me normally. If I had of been hormonal, you’d be signing Soprano right now.” {C

Dillon held Nicole tightly in his arms as they laid on the blanket, staring up at the stars. Nicole smiled. {C

“This is perfect,” Nicole said. {C

“Look, it’s Andromeda,” Dillon said, pointing at the sky. {C

“It’s beautiful,” Nicole said. {C

Dillon took a second blanket and put it around Nicole. Nicole smiled at his sense of being a gentleman. {C

“I was wanting to ask you something,” Dillon said. “We’ve been going out for a year now and we’re both head over heels in love. So, I was wondering if you would accept this.” {C

Nicole was shocked and lost for words when Dillon pulled out a ring. {C

“Dillon?” Nicole asked, her eyes wide open. {C

“It’s a promise ring. A promise that you will be mine until we both graduate and the second we graduate, I’ll ask for your hand in marriage. What do you say?” {C

Nicole sat there, in shock. She opened her mouth but no words came out. {C

Aldy finished downing a whole bottle of vodka and tossed it aside. It hit James’s foot. James looked up and started toward Aldy. {C

“What’s your problem, bro?” James asked. {C

“Don’t mess with me right now, James,” Aldy said. {C

“What’s your deal?” James asked. {C

“I said get lost,” Aldy snapped. {C

James grabbed Aldy’s shoulder. Aldy turned around swung his fist at James. James flinched and when he heard it connect with skin, it wasn’t his own. Jaxon had dove between them and taken the punch instead. Aldy had jumped back, shocked at what he had done. {C

“I-I--” {C

Aldy shook his head and ran upstairs. James carefully approached Jaxon. {C

“Why did you do that?” James asked. {C

“I said I would fight to the death for you,” Jaxon said, holding his face. “I meant it.” {C

Aldy threw open his car door, jumped into the front seat, and peeled out of the driveway. {C

“Caught here in a fiery blaze, won't lose my will to stay,” Aldy sang. “I tried to drive all through the night, the heat stroke ridden weather, the barren empty sights. No oasis here to see, the sand is singing deathless words to me. Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn all alone. Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction. My confidence is leaving me on my own all alone. No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention.” {C

Aldy looked at his speedometer. He was clocking over 60 and climbing. {C

“As I adjust to my new sights the rarely tired lights will take me to new heights. My hand is on the trigger I'm ready to ignite. Tomorrow might not make it but everything's all right. Mental fiction, follow me; show me what it's like to be set free. Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn all alone. Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction. My confidence is leaving me on my own all alone. No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention. So sorry you're not here. I've been sane too long my vision's so unclear. Now take a trip with me but don't be surprised when things aren't what they seem. Caught here in a fiery blaze, won't lose my will to stay. These eyes won't see the same, after I flip today.”

As Aldy hit the main highway, he was doing over 80 mph.

“Sometimes I don't know why we'd rather live than die, we look up towards the sky for answers to our lives. We may get some solutions but most just pass us by, don't want your absolution cause I can't make it right. I'll make a beast out of myself, gets rid of all the pain of being a man. I've known it from the start, all these good ideas will tear your brain apart. Scared but you can follow me I'm too weird to live but much too rare to die.”

Aldy pulled into the parking lot of the apartment complex where he lived, burning rubber as he almost spun to a stop. {C

Jaxon pulled the ice pack from his black eye and laid it aside. Honey looked at him, sympathetic. {C

“You don’t have to take the stage with the rest of us,” Honey said. {C

“No, I’m a performer. Performers don’t back out. The show must go on.” {C

Honey nodded. “What you did for James, you still love him don’t you?” {C

Jaxon nodded. “James is the other half of my heart. Nothing will ever change that.” {C

Lana put her arm around Jaxon. “I love you, buddy. Be strong.” {C

Jaxon stood up. “Let’s do this song. I just wanna get my mind off things.” {C

Lana took Jaxon’s hand and held it tightly. “I’ve got your back.” {C

Jaxon smiled at Lana. “Thank you.” {C

Jaxon, Honey, and Lana joined the others on stage as the music began to play. {C

“Party up,” James sang. “Party up.” {C

“Put your hands in the sky now, yeah,” New Directions sang. “If you wanna get fly. We could do it all night now, yeah. Turn the beat up high. One time for the ladies, yeah, and the fellas c'mon. We gonna go crazy, uh, till the lights come on.”

“Tomorrow I'm gonna be on it,” Kevin rapped. “Think about last night when I strolled in. How me and her were just on it. And we danced all night 'til the morning. I was so bad, you were so right, and the DJ kept that groove right. Doin' that dance, it looked so tight. Yeah, you in that dress looked so nice. You so fly, we viving. Won't stop 'til the beat stop. Go ahead, do your thing. Let the beat rock. Spend a little time, do-si, hop. You can play it real cool, but we so hot, hot. Like we're burning on fire, to have fun is my desire. Straight up, and I ain't no liar. To the top, let's take it higher.”

“Put your hands in the sky now, yeah,” New Directions sang. “If you wanna get fly. We could do it all night now, yeah. Turn the beat up high. One time for the ladies, yeah, and the fellas c'mon. We gonna go crazy, uh, till the lights come on.” {C

“All night, here we go now,” Kevin rapped. “C'mon and get down on the floor now. Now, now baby girl don't slow down. 'Cause me and you gonna have a show down, uh. Lil' mama get low down and I'm gonna rap it out like this. We movin’ and groovin’. Smooth can't lose with a flow that is so swift. So maybe when you wake up, and your face still got that grin. You can smile all day, in that fly girl way and say ‘Yeah I am that chick.’ And maybe we can get the DJ to play this track all night. And when I ask how you feel out there, everybody all say ‘all right!’” {C

“Put your hands in the sky now, yeah,” New Directions sang. “If you wanna get fly. We could do it all night now, yeah. Turn the beat up high. One time for the ladies, yeah, and the fellas c'mon. We gonna go crazy, uh, till the lights come on. Put your hands in the sky now, yeah. If you wanna get fly. We could do it all night now, yeah. Turn the beat up high. One time for the ladies, yeah, and the fellas c'mon. We gonna go crazy, uh, till the lights come on.” {C

James stumbled to the front of the stage and puked. The rest of the onlookers gasped in shock. {C

Miles met Lana as she walked back from James’ bedroom. He cut her off in the hallway, reeking of vodka. {C

“Hello, Lana,” he said, his speech slurred. {C

Lana rolled her eyes. “Miles, let me through, please. I didn’t even wanna be here and I just came because Hallie begged me. To be honest, I’m the only person who hasn’t drank tonight and I just wanna go home.” {C

Miles leaned into Lana, trying to kiss her. Lana pushed him away. {C

“Ew, gross. Miles!” Lana said. {C

“Kiss me, Lana. I feel really frisky.” {C

“I don’t care. I’m a lesbian remember?” {C

“Alcohol make some people bi-curious,” Miles said with an obnoxious laugh. {C

“Well it doesn’t me, okay. Go find someone else to kiss.” {C

Miles nodded. “Fine. But don’t come to me wanting to kiss me later.” {C

“I don’t plan on it,” Lana said as Miles walked down the hallway. “God, now I need a drink. Or five.” {C

Miles took a seat beside Jaxon on the sofa. {C

“It pisses me off how you did what you did to James but when you took that hit for him, you made up for it,” Miles slurred. {C

“Uh, thanks,” Jaxon said. {C

“You know you have kinda pretty lips,” Miles said. {C

Jaxon raised an eyebrow. “Come again.” {C

“How do I know I’m not bi?” Miles asked. “I never kissed a guy. I really wanna kiss you right now, Jaxon. Just so I know. And plus your lips look awesome.” {C

“Miles, you are very drunk,” Jaxon said with a laugh. {C

“I’m not kidding,” Miles said, looking in Jaxon’s eyes. “I will never know until I try. Will you let me kiss you?” {C

Jaxon stammered. “I-I don’t--” {C

Miles grabbed Jaxon and kissed him. He shoved his tongue into Jaxon’s mouth, causing Jaxon’s eyes to go wide. Jaxon felt something inside he never expected to feel. Being kissed by Miles actually turned him on. {C

God, he kisses like such a straight boy, Jaxon thought. {C

When Miles broke the kiss, Jaxon was breathless. “So, are you bi?” {C

“Hell no!” Miles said, wiping his mouth. “Yuck! It felt like I was tongue kissing my brother. Gross! No offense.” {C

“None taken,” Jaxon replied. {C

“I'm gonna make you bend and break,” Miles sang. “Say a prayer but let the good times roll in case God doesn't show. Let the good times roll, let the good times roll. And I want these words to make things right but it's the wrongs that make the words come to life. ‘Who does he think he is?’ If that's the worst you got, better put your fingers back to the keys.” {C

“One night and one more time,” Jaxon and Miles sang. “Thanks for the memories {C even though they weren't so great. ‘He tastes like you but sweeter.’ One night, yeah, and one more time. Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories. ‘He, he tastes like you only sweeter.’”

“Been looking forward to the future,” Jaxon sang. “But my eyesight is going bad. And this crystal ball, it's always cloudy except for, except for when you look into the past. One night stand, one night stand off.” {C

“They say I only think in the form of crunching numbers,” Miles sang. “In hotel rooms, collecting page six lovers.”

“Get me out of my mind and get you out of those clothes,” Jaxon sang. “I'm a liner away from getting you into the mood, whoa.” {C

“One night and one more time,” Jaxon and Miles sang. “Thanks for the memories {C even though they weren't so great. ‘He tastes like you but sweeter.’ One night, yeah, and one more time. Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories. ‘He, he tastes like you only sweeter.’ One night and one more time. Thanks for the memories even though they weren't so great. ‘He tastes like you but sweeter.’ One night, yeah, and one more time. Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories. ‘He, he tastes like you only sweeter.’”

“Yay for random singing,” Jaxon joked, trying to lighten the mood.

“I need to make out with a girl,” Miles said. “Now, right now.”

When Miles looked up and saw Breezy, he didn’t think twice. He walked toward her and walked arm-in-arm with her upstairs.

Lana sighed as she walked in. “James is asleep. He kind of overdid it.”

“Understatement,” Jaxon said.

Lana walked over and poured herself a glass of vodka. “At least there’s not amateur tattoo artists here tonight.”

Lana threw the cup back and guzzled the vodka.

“What?” Jaxon asked.

“Nothing,” Lana said.

When Jaxon awoke the next morning, he noticed that he had passed out on the floor. Lana was laying halfway on top of him. He gently shook Lana to wake her up. With the movement, Jaxon caught a glimpse of a tattoo on Lana’s lower abdomen. It was two snakes forming a heart. He smiled as he looked at his own tattoo.

“I can’t move,” Jaxon said. “You’re all on top of me and stuff.”

Lana drowsily wiped her eyes. “Oh. My bad, Jaxon. I think I just passed out last night.”

“That makes two of us,” Jaxon said. “Where is Miles?”

Jaxon looked over and saw Miles passed out face down on the couch, a pair of bright yellow thongs on his head. He was missing one of his shoes, Lana noticed.

“Someone partied a little too hard,” Lana said.

“I don’t know what to do, Lana,” Jaxon said. “Miles kissed me last night and so far, we’ve been best friends. What if this changes things. I know he’s straight and it was purely drunken experimentation, but still, things are gonna be different between us. It complicates things when you kiss your best friend.”

“Miles obviously had a curiosity that he needed to explore. He chose you because he trusted you. You are his best friend after all. If anything, it should show you just ho much Miles thinks of your friendship.”

“Or he was just extremely drunk,” Jaxon said, taking a look at Miles again. “You know, I thought I learned my lesson after last year. But, this year I really learned my lesson. No more wild New Year’s Eve parties.”

“Don’t feel bad, Jaxon,” Lana said, standing up. “I hate alcohol and I promised to never drink again. Then last night, I gave into the peer pressure and woke up on top of one of my best friends. Who is a guy. And he’s gay, I might point out.”

Jaxon smiled. “It’ll be our little secret. As is your tattoo.”

“It better be. After Miles came after me last night and tried to tongue attack me like a Queen Xenomorph, the last thing I need is for him to get any more ideas. And yes, tell no one about the ink or they’ll never find your body.”

“Well, he did tongue attack me, so consider yourself spared,” Jaxon said.

“Ooh, there was tongue?” Lana asked.

“Yes. I mean, it wasn’t bad. Miles is a good kisser. But it was a straight boy kiss. It’s different than a gay boy kiss.”

“There is a difference?” Lana asked, surprised.

Jaxon nodded. “Straight boy kisses are clumsy, awkward, a little too ‘excited.’ It’s a bad combo. We bumped noses twice.”

“Please, no more,” Lana begged. “I’m gonna barf.”

Jaxon laughed.

Hallie stumbled in, rubbing her neck. “I just woke up on the trampoline and my neck is killing me.”

“So I guess we need to get everyone up and start getting this place cleaned up,” Jaxon suggested.

Lana nodded. “Yep. You know, all in all, it wasn’t a bad night.”

“Actually, it wasn’t,” Jaxon agreed.

“Happy New Year, Jaxon,” Lana said with a smile.

“Happy New Year,” Jaxon replied.
